Title 16 — root / Chapter 06 — 16 NCAC 06C .0608
Plain English summary
This rule requires PSU administrators to report professional educator misconduct to the State Board of Education within defined timeframes following dismissal, suspension, nonrenewal, or resignation. Misconduct triggering a five-day reporting deadline includes conduct warranting automatic license revocation, related criminal charges, or physical/sexual abuse of a child or student, while other conduct potentially justifying disciplinary sanctions must be reported within 30 calendar days. Administrators must also notify departing educators of the reporting requirement, and PSUs must provide personnel and investigative records to the SBE upon request.
