NC 1507-8 Subgrants to LEAs

Plain English summary

States receiving Section 619 grants must distribute all non-reserved funds to eligible LEAs responsible for educating children aged three through five, even if no preschool children with disabilities are currently enrolled. Effective July 1, 2009, this distribution requirement applies broadly to qualifying LEAs. North Carolina public charter schools are explicitly excluded from eligibility because state statute prohibits them from operating preschools.
